Føn Energy Services (Føn) is an independent service provider to the offshore wind industry and other energy sectors. The Norwegian industrial companies Akastor (majority owned by Aker ASA) and IKM (known for their operations & maintenance services in energy) are teaming up to create a globally leading operations and maintenance services firm for the offshore wind industry. Currently it has 90+ employees, and access to several thousand technicians and engineers through its owners.

As part of Føn’s growth, we are seeking to recruit personnel with strategy & business development and are therefore looking for a summer intern for the summer of 2024.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & M&A

• Play a key role in developing the company strategy

• Identify M&A targets and engage in dialogue as and when needed

• Work closely with the deal team

• Lead strategic projects as needed

• Engage in partnership and commercial discussions as and when needed

Analysis & decision support

• Develop decision making material for the Board

• Conduct ad-hoc analyses for key management and strategic decisions

• Keep updated about the offshore wind market and collect market intelligence

Professional Experience / Qualifications

• Strong academic background

• Skilled at managing and leading strategic projects

• Creativity, proactivity and the ability to identify and act on commercial opportunities

• Outgoing and a driven personality who is “doer”, can mobilize and inspire people

We experienced increased growth after the services we provide from our engineering department, and we are therefore looking for two newly qualified engineers with a special interest in advanced strength calculation, construction analysis and design. The position is based in Tananger outside Stavanger.

We mainly work with marine steel and aluminum structures. We use the calculation software Ansys and STAAD Pro for "Finite element analysis" (FEA). For 3D modelling, we use SolidWorks and Microstation.

The position is primarily intended for students who have finished their studies in the summer of 2024, with a start date in August 2024.

Typical work tasks

• General Strength calculation and design of load-bearing structures and equipment for the offshore and subsea industry

• Fatigue/lifetime analyses

• Lifting analyzes including design of lifting equipment and lifting systems

• Hydrodynamic calculations

About the position

A key part of the business model of Føn is to have the best project managers in the indystry that are able to build solutions for our customers utilizing a combination of in-house resources and rsources from Aker and The IKM Group. The position is primarily intended for students who will graduate in the summer of 2024, with a start date in August 2024.

As a project manager trainee in Føn, the employee will be spending a majority of the time coordinating and managing work being done across our departments, this includes work within traditional energy as well as oneshore & offshore wind. The work performed by the employee will fall under the following three categories:

Managing and Delivering on Projects

• Lead individual projects within oil & gas, maritime and wind (scope, time, cost, quality, risk etc.)

• Act as day-to-day contact point for customers

• Plan and optimize internal resource allocation.

• Report to the management team in Tananger

• Act as an ambassador for Føn Energy Services externally

• Contribute to and drive tender processes.

• Identify commercial opportunities with existing and new customers and secure additional business.

• Performs various administrative tasks related to project delivery (for example billing)

• Perform all other tasks related to delivering a successful execution on the company’s projects.

Commercial and Business Development

• Serve as focal point toward designated customers.

• Enhance revenue from existing clients through increasing retention, optimizing, and implementing new pricingmodels, increasing customer retention, and increasing scope.

• Work in close collaboration with the Commercial organization

Leadership & Management

• Apply effective leadership in accordance with the Company’s values instilling a customer orientated and collaborative mindset in the team.

• Support in building a highly motivated, coherent, and strong team.

• Potentially serve as direct report for technical personell.

Kvalifikasjoner

• Utdannelse for denne stillingskategori innebærer teknisk kompetanse fra yrkesskole/teknisk fagskole eller tilsvarende med fullført læretid samt avlagt fagprøve i henhold til relevant regelverk

• Minst 5 års relevant arbeidserfaring

• Grunnleggende elektrokurs for mekaniker

• For offshore arbeidere: Kjennskap til relevante HMS-direktiver og plattformspesifikke HMS-instruksjoner samt dokumentert GSK sikkerhetskurs

• Det legges vekt på god serviceadferd og nøyaktighet da virksomheten er sertifisert sakkyndig virksomhet
